The Sacraments are outward signs of inward grace.

Baptism
Baptism is the first of the Sacraments and the gateway to a life of grace in Jesus Christ. We are pleased you wish your child to be baptised.
The times for baptism vary and the most appropriate time will be decided by our parish priest.
To discuss the arrangements for your child’s baptism please phone Fr Isaac on 01361 883714 or 07956201067
Reconciliation
Preparation for the Sacrament of Reconciliation takes place in our children’s liturgy class run by our parish catechist. The classes take place after one of our weekend Masses in Our Lady & St Margaret’s in Duns, details are given in advance. The classes start in September with celebration of the Sacrament taking place in Spring. Your child must complete the requirements of the course. Details reference applications are advertised in our parish magazine and on social media.
First Holy Communion

Preparation for First Holy Communion runs in parallel with preparation for the Sacrament of Reconciliation. We consider applications for children from P3 upwards. If accepted your child must complete the requirements of the course.
Confirmation
These classes are run when there is a need. We are a small parish and so this may not be every year. Children from P7 upwards will be considered. The classes are run by our parish catechist at St Margaret’s in Duns but the celebration of the Sacrament may take place in a neighbouring parish depending on numbers. Under normal circumstances the celebration will be presided over by our archbishop.
Marriage

If you would like to be married in our parish you should, in the first instance, contact the parish priest of the parish in which you live, for Berwickshire that is Father Isaac, to discuss arrangements. Please do this before you make any bookings for venues etc. The person responsible for the arrangements for your marriage is the parish priest of the parish in which you live.
As a couple you will be asked by your priest to complete some form of marriage preparation.
Further information about marriage in the Archdiocese of St Andrews & Edinburgh can be found on their website.
